Maun - Kalahari Bushman experience – Maun – Okavango Delta – Moremi Game Reserve tour - Maun

Day 1/2. Maun – Bushmen experience - Maun

We are welcomed at Maun airport by our guide and transferred to the 7500 hectares Game reserve located 280km from Maun. The farm is owned and run by the Ncoakhoe which means ‘’red’’ people. The Ncoakhoe are one of the many San or Bushman Tribes found across Southern Africa.
Upon arrival, we are given a choice of staying at the comfortable guest house or to have the ultimate experience of sleeping in a bush man hut. For camping enthusiasts, we get a chance to camp in a truly wild campsite equipped only with ablution facilities. The following bushman activities are available in this wild reserve; Traditional dancing, veld food gathering, bushman survival courses and story telling.
Any one who has seen the dancing always asks for more, so come prepared.

We spend the evening enjoying the exciting and energetic Kalahari bush men dance for us. You can sit and thoroughly enjoy the dance but for the extremely adventurous, joining the dance is an experience you will never forget in your lifetime.
After the dance you lay back around a bush fire and enjoy the stars in the African sky.
A simple but delicious dinner is served and the first night in Africa is spent listening to the sounds of the wild.

After an early breakfast, the morning starts with an exploration of  the game reserve for the wide variety of animals. Since this place is owned by the first people of the Kalahari, we have many choices. We can trace the animals the true bushman way by reading the messages that the animals leave on the ground or we can move around on top of a comfortable 4 x 4 tour vehicle.
We spend the second evening enjoying the traditional bushman dance and other activities around a fire. Dinner

Day3. Bushman experience – Mokoro excursions – Kamanga Lodge & Tours (Maun).

Breakfast is served early and we leave the farm before 7am.We arrive in Maun around 10am and we spend a few minutes in the supermarkets buying some water and changing currency. Our guide will take you to experience the exciting channels and waterways of the Okavango Delta on a Mokoro (wooden boat). Lunch is served on an island followed by a game walk. We make our way back to Maun where we are transferred to a luxury lodge. Free massage, a three course dinner meal and a warm or cool bubble bath crowns the day. The evening is spent around a fire.

Day4. Maun – Khwai Area of Moremi wildreserve – Kamanga lodge & tours

After an early breakfast, we depart at 6am to the khwai area of Moremi game reserve. This area is so rich with a wide variety of game and we are able to spot many animals along the way. Giraffes, Elephants, Zebras, Gemsbock, Kudus and large African crocodiles.For bird watchers this reserve is a paradise for the great variety of birds.
We enjoy morning and afternoon game drives and

Morning and afternoon game drives interrupted by lunch in the bush reveals the many species of flora and fauna in this wonderful reserve. The reserve is a paradise for those who love bird watching.
We make our way back to Maun and we arrive at  around 7pm.
We enjoy a three course meal and free massage. We spend the last night reflecting on all the beautiful experiences.

Day 5.

After an early breakfast, we explore the village and for curios and crafts.We are then transferred to the airport for our onward flight.

We enjoy early breakfast and leave Maun at 7am.We enjoy watching lots of game along the way to Moremi reserve. We arrive in the Khwai flood plains in the early after noon and continue to enjoy the game drives in this rich reserve full of animals and birdlife that make Moremi their home. (Lunch is served in the bush).
Evening is spent around a fire in our designated campsite. This is an experience never to be forgotten as you enjoy the true sounds of an African wild night. The night is very quiet and is punctuated by the sounds of the natural residents.
We depart from our campsite very early in the morning and we enjoy watching more game in other parts of the reserve. Other activities like mokoro excursion, fishing and motor boat drives are available We camp in another part of the reserve and enjoy dinner in the evening around a camp fire.

DAY 6/7/8. Savute and Chobe National parks

We depart early and we continue overland through the National parks, and in the late morning hours we visit the Savute marsh and Channel. This area is famous for its large predators. We continue to explore this amazing area and its waterholes as we enjoy the game drives with our guide.
The Chobe National park is famous for the largest herd of elephants in Africa living in the region; Lions are also a must see in this beautiful area.The scenery is beautiful and the sunsets are truly magnificent. We will most likely witness huge Elephant herds during our game drives. Along the Chobe river we enjoy an unforgettable game viewing cruise. This is one of the most unique areas in terms of game diversity. Herds of Elephants, Large crocodiles, huge hippos, springboks, buffalos line the river banks of the majestic Chobe river. The game viewing really takes your breath away.
The night is spent in a luxury hotel.

Day 9. Livingstone/Victoria falls

We depart early and we arrive in Victoria falls/Livingstone where we witness a sight to remember forever; one of the greatest, most unforgettable spectacles in Africa ; that is the magical Victoria falls. We are spoilt for a choice of activities
Scenic flights, micro lighting, elephant back riding and for the really adventurous bungee is the best way to experience this magical area. (These activities are done at your own expense).
The night is spent in a comfortable hotel.( All meals)

Day 10. Livingstone/Victoria falls

Our tour ends after breakfast and we are transferred to the airport for our onward flight.

Day1. Maun

We are welcomed at Maun airport by our guide and transferred to a comfortable Lodge. Activities include walks along the Thamalakane river, a tour around the Maun village or a game flight over the Okavango delta to enjoy the scenic beauty of this amazing area
A three course meal dinner is served at the Lodge and guests spend the evening around a fire enjoying an exciting traditional dancing session.

Day 2.  Maun – Okavango delta/Mokoro excursions

Breakfast is served early and we depart from Maun and drive for 1 – 2 hrs depending on the conditions. Our guide will take you to experience the exciting channels and waterways of the Okavango delta on a mokoro (dug out canoe).

Lunch is served on an island followed by a game walk. In In the late afternoon,we make our way back to Maun and enjoy exotic massage and more dancing. Dinner is served and guests spend the evening around a fire.


Day 3/4. Maun – Khwai area of Moremi Wild reserve

After an early breakfast, we depart at 7am to the khwai area of moremi game reserve. We arrive in the khwai flood plains in the early afternoon and continue to enjoy the game drives in this rich reserve full of animals and birdlife that make Moremi their home ( Lunch is served in the bush)
The evening is spent around a fire in our designated campsite. This is an experience never to be forgotten as you enjoy the true sounds of an African wild night. The night is very quiet and is punctuated by the sounds of the natural residents.
We depart from our campsite very early in the morning and we enjoy watching more game in other parts of the reserve. Other activities like mokoro excursion, fishing and motor boat drives are available
We leave for Maun and arrive at the Lodge at 7pm.We enjoy a three course meal, massage and traditional dancing

Day 5. Maun

After an early breakfast, we explore the village for curios and crafts. We are then transferred to the airport for our onward flight.
ITINERARY

Maun – Nxai National Park, Makgadigadi Game reserve – Maun – Moremi Game reserve  –Xakanaxa lagoons – Khwai river flood plains – savuti – Chobe – livingstone/Victoria falls

Day 1

We are welcomed at Maun international airport by our guide and immediately depart towards Gweta. Lunch is enjoyed enroute, turning North close to Phuduhudu we enter Nxai National Park. we get to our campsite late afternoon. We shower and enjoy the evening around the campfire.

Day 2

We enjoy early morning game drive and return at 12 noon for lunch. We get to see springboks , Zebras and gemsbok. We also get to witness springboks and Impalas grazing together (This is the only place in Botswana to see impalas and springboks together). Day time leisure.

Day 3

We break camp early and head towards Makgadigadi Game Reserve. This place is famous for its abundant bird life especially during the rainy season when there is water in the pans. We shower and enjoy the evening around the campfire

Day 4

We enjoy early morning game drive as we slowly get back to Maun in time to enjoy lunch at Kamanga lodge, famous for its delicious cuisine.
Game flight offers you an aerial view of the Okavango Delta.

Day 5/6/7/8; Moremi Wildlife reserve (southgate), Xakanaxa lagoons, Khwai river area (Northgate)

Day5

We enjoy early breakfast at Kamanga Lodge and leave Maun at 7am.We enjoy watching lots of game along the way to Moremi reserve and we enter the reserve through the Southgate. Our guide takes on a scenic road through Moremi to Xakanaxa lagoons where we camp for the night. We shower, have dinner and relax around the fire.

Day6

Early breakfast prepares us for full morning game drive and we return to the camp at 12 noon for lunch. We shower, rest and relax in camp. After 4 pm tea, we set off for afternoon game drive, through the reserve and we enjoy the diversity of the wilderness of the rivers and lagoons.We return to camp and relax around the campfire.

Day 7

In the morning we leave Xakanaxa early and continue on a river line route through Moremi to arrive and set up camp near the banks of the Khwai river at Moremi’s North gate. We shower, relax and enjoy the evening around a campfire

Day 8

We enjoy an early morning game drive around the Khwai flood plains before returning to the camp for breakfast. We continue the afternoon game drive and later relax and enjoy our dinner around a campfire.

Day 9

We decamp and we continue spotting game as we slowly drive through Moremi, Northwards to Savuti. We enjoy our lunch en route and we drive past the Mababe depression where we set camp.

Day 10

Savuti is known for its large population of large predators and bull elephants. Spectacular numbers and diversity of birds and wildlife.
We enjoy morning and afternoon game drives and relax during the hot part of the day. We relax and enjoy dinner around a camp fire at night

Day 11

We enjoy early breakfast and decamp and head towards the Chobe river. This park is famous breeding herds of elephant and large buffalo herds. Boat excursions on the Chobe river gives us a spectacular opportunity to see lots of game in a very exciting way. We set camp along the Chobe flood plains.

Day 12

We enjoy breakfast and decamp and we continue watching game as we slowly drive out of Chobe National bank and we arrive in Kasane in the early afternoon. For a change, we are booked in a hotel/lodge along the Chobe river. We enjoy a delicious meal for lunch, relax and continue watching game on  a boat excursion. We spend the evening relaxing and enjoy dinner at the hotel/lodge.

Day 13

We depart early and we arrive in Victoria falls/Livingstone where we witness a sight to remember forever; one of the greatest, most unforgettable spectacles in Africa ; that is the magical Victoria falls. We are spoilt for a choice of activities
